So, you’ve dusted yourself off after Christmas and we’re back to the grind but have you taken some time to think about you and your self-care – and I mean really think?
Sadly, it’s all too common that amidst work, life, responsibilities, taking the bins out, going to the supermarket, that we / us / me / you are at the bottom of the list and I’m here to tell you to stop and put yourselves at the top – and here’s why.
I work with a lot of women who are not practicing self-care and by that I don’t just mean physically, I mean emotionally too. And the impact is huge. Their feelings of stress, overwhelm, not looking as they want to, not being as healthy as they want to, not having any time to themselves, in a job / relationship that is no longer fulfilling, having additional responsibilities and overall struggle means they are plodding on it life as the years go by. And we only have a certain amount of years.
If we focus on ourselves and look after our mind, body and spirit we are in the strongest position possible to make life decisions – to get out of that relationship, to work on how we look or to ask for that long-overdue pay rise. It works – I’ve seen it.
I have spent more than 20 years working with my clients to unravel their lack of self-care through a guided process of exploration and discovery and I apply my experience to aid women to ensure their self-care and self-worth is paramount.
